Het verhaal achter de Suites
Suite Jardim was once a storage room, but has now been transformed into a cozy, modern suite with rustic charm. Lowering the floor has made the space feel spacious, while keeping its warm and inviting atmosphere.
You step right out onto a covered terrace overlooking a beautiful garden full of flowers and plants. And the best part? You can even catch a glimpse of the sea and the mountains across the valley.
Suite Vinha offers a stunning view, from your room, you can see the ocean shimmering in the distance. This suite is bright, spacious, and comfortably furnished.
The two suites are connected by a staircase through the garden. This way, you can stay together, but still enjoy your own space and privacy — perfect for two couples or adult friends who want to enjoy each other’s company with all the comforts of home.
The shared rooftop terrace is quite literally the highlight of your stay. Here, you'll enjoy panoramic views from the mountains to the ocean, a view you'll never tire of.
This terrace also has a special story: grapes used to be crushed here to make local wine. Today, in that exact spot, you'll find a heated outdoor tub where you can truly unwind.
Onze locatie
Calheta Suites ligt in het zonnige zuidwesten van Madeira, in een rustige woonwijk op de berg met uitzicht op zee en natuur. Calheta staat bekend als een van de warmste en meest zonzekere plekken van het eiland.
Wat vind je in de buurt?
- Zandstrand: Binnen 5 minuten rijden sta je op het prachtige zandstrand van Calheta, ideaal om te zwemmen of te ontspannen.
- Wandelroutes: Direct in de omgeving vind je diverse levada-wandelingen en bergpaden, geschikt voor elk niveau.
- Restaurants: In de jachthaven en het centrum van Calheta kun je terecht voor lokale gerechten, verse vis en een goed glas wijn.
- Winkels: Supermarkten, een bakker en een lokale markt zijn allemaal dichtbij, handig voor wie graag zelf kookt of lokale producten ontdekt.

Over ons
Bom dia 👋
Wij zijn Jeroen en Rachelle en wij wonen sinds mei 2024 op Madeira waar we Calheta Suites hebben omgetoverd tot een kleinschalig verblijf.
In juni 2022 gingen we voor de eerste keer naar Madeira, omdat we goede verhalen hadden gehoord en nieuwsgierig waren geworden. En iedereen had gelijk, wat is het een prachtig eiland! We werden al heel erg snel verliefd op het eiland en het voelde al heel snel als de plek waar we onze thuisbasis wilden hebben. We zijn in hele kleine stapjes gaan nadenken hoe we hier zouden kunnen gaan wonen. Een droom om gastenverblijven te openen kwam als een van de eerste dingen naar boven die we wilden doen. Calheta Suites is nu een feit!

Madeira staat bekend om zijn ongerepte natuur, en het is echt waar, je kijkt je ogen uit! Wat Madeira echt bijzonder maakt is dat het eiland zo gevarieerd is.
